  • Salute to Veterans ceremony at High Point monument set for Sunday

    “The Sussex Elks Lodge will host its ninth Salute to Veterans ceremony and dinner on Sunday.  The ceremony will begin at 2 p.m. at the High Point Veterans Monument in High Point State Park. There is no admission fee to enter the park and get to the monument that stands 220 feet tall and sits atop the highest ground elevation in New Jersey. The monument, a granite obelisk, was completed in 1930.”

    Sussex County Commissioner Candidate Scott Paul has continually demonstrated his commitment to bettering the community. His latest endeavor is a coalition comprised of community leaders, faith leaders, and stakeholders, known as the H3AL Coalition (Highlighting Equality & Equity through Education, Advocacy, and Love).

  • NJ School of Conservation, Sussex college partner up to teach courses

    The New Jersey School of Conservation has joined with Sussex County Community College. The courses will be taught by college personnel starting in June and range from free admission to $20 per course.
