SCDC 2021 Re-organization
Last Tuesday, June 15th, the SCDC held their annual reorganization meeting via zoom. We are pleased to announce the unanimous re-election of our Executive Board, Chairwoman Dawne Rowe, Vice Chairman Scott Fadden, Treasurer Diane Wexler, and Secretary Leslie Boen. The Sussex County Democratic Committee enthusiastically looks forward to continuing our momentum with these strong Democratic leaders at the helm as we head into the 2021 election cycle with a full slate of candidates!

NJ property tax aid: Lawmakers, Gov. Murphy agree to expand Homestead credit in budget
One of several tax relief measures highlighted in a joint statement Governor Phil Murphy, Senate President Stephen Sweeney and Assembly Speaker Craig Coughlin on Monday included an increase to the Homestead Benefit credit. Measures such as these continue to ensure a more fair and equitable New Jersey to all residents.

Juneteenth
On June 19th, 1865, enslaved Black Americans in Galveston, Texas, took their first step toward freedom.This #Juneteenth, as we celebrate the end of the physical chains which once held Black Americans down, we cannot ignore the chains of systemic racism.In New Jersey, we’re breaking those chains – through justice reform, gun safety, health care, housing, environmental protection, and increasing access to the ballot box – to advance the fight for true equality and end a generational cycle of injustice.
