 Derek Chauvin was found guilty on all counts Tuesday for causing George Floyd's death, a verdict that could send the disgraced former Minneapolis police officer to prison for the rest of his life.

The false narrative being spun by the political enemies of Governor Murphy regarding this deadly malfeasance is, sadly, nothing more than a political ploy being used to misinform voters. This is not some distant event that happened in places we have never heard of, to people we do not know. This happened right here at home. The Sussex County Republican Committee should be ashamed of themselves for pushing this blatant lie for pure political gain, as should their county-wide and gubernatorial candidates. If the Republican Committee and their candidates truly cared about the families of those who perished, the employees and their families who were affected, and of course the surviving victims, then they would be laying the blame at the feet of the true entity that is at fault instead of turning a blind eye to justice in the name of political agendas.

Municipalities and elected officials attempting to ban legal sales are working against the desire of their residents and are impeding highly profitable economic opportunities that will be available from the newly passed legislation.

It is with excitement and profound humility that I announce my successful certification as a candidate for the 24th Legislative District Assembly!  Confirmation of my inclusion on the list of confirmed candidates came in early Monday morning via the Secretary of State’s office.  I would like to express my deep gratitude to everyone who helped in the effort to collect signatures for my petition over the last month. Organizations, groups, and individuals rallied around this campaign and made their unified voices heard by helping to place me on the ballot. Having so many people place their trust in my ability to lead as a representative for the 24th District is humbling and is something that I will not forget during this ongoing adventure.
