Becchi has picked the wrong target. Mikie Sherrill is a graduate of the United States Naval Academy and was one of the first women eligible for combat. As a Navy helicopter pilot, she flew missions in Europe and the Middle East. After her military service ended, she obtained her law degree from Georgetown University and worked in the U. S. Attorney’s office.

“A lack of respect, particularly for the honorable veterans who have served us, makes you unfit to represent us in Congress. Ms. Becchi, to use your own words: “it’s just sad.”

While only 0.5 percent of U.S. residents live in nursing homes, individuals in nursing homes account for 40 percent of the nation’s COVID-19 deaths.
